The Virginia Board of Physical Therapy in accordance with Section 18VAC112-20-131(C) of the Regulations, entitled Continued Competency Requirements for Renewal of an Active License”, exempts a licensee from the continuing competency requirements for the first biennial renewal following the date of initial licensure by examination in Virginia.

Integumentary physical therapy includes the treatment of conditions involving the skin and all its related organs. Physical therapists spend much of their time on their feet, working with patients. The ASU Physical Therapy Department was granted full accreditation by the CAPTE on October 30, 2002.
Individuals who are well prepared in the field of physical therapy will continue to play a vital role in health care in the future. Today’s physical therapist is required to complete a graduate degree – either a masters or clinical doctorate – from an accredited education program. The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award master’s and doctoral degrees.

UIndy’s Physical Therapy Assistant program gives you an efficient, flexible point of entry into the physical therapy field. Physical Therapy encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. A growing majority of programs offer the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
